Babaçu Package – 5 Days and 4 Nights

Day 1)

Pick up at your hotel at 8 AM to Ceasa Port where you may see a small fish market. Right after that, you will be going to Xiborena to play with the giant fresh water scale fish or Pirarucu, as it is known in Brazil. Soon after that we will head for the meeting of the rivers for photos and explanations from the guide telling why the two rivers, Rio Negro and Solimôes, don’t mix after flowing a long stretch to form the Amazon River, the longest river in the world.

Arriving at a small village named Careiro, we will board our van for one hour and a half, traveling on the BR 319/AM 254 highway where we will have the chance to make a stop to see the waterlilies. After driving on federal highway, we will take the state highway 254 where you may enjoy, the lush, and pleasant landscape.

Then it’s on to Mutuca River, where our regional wooden canoe boat will be waiting for us to go to Amazon Green tours Jungle Lodge. We will have lunch and in the afternoon leave the lodge by speed boat down stream, along the Mutuca River with great view of the landscape to Muritinga Lake for piranha fishing, dolphin spotting and a great chance to see the most exotic birds of region after sunset. In the way back to the lodge you will spot alligators and start to return to the lodge. Sometimes we can see a snake or an owl, that is up to luck. When we come back we have dinner and a free night.

If you want to swim with the pink dolphins we can arrange this activity on the first day, but it’s not standard included.

Day 2)

5:30 AM sunrise breakfast. After breakfast, we leave for the jungle for a three hour hike to see medicinal plants, water vines, spiders, frogs, butterflies and survival techniques in the jungle and you have the opportunity learn how the indigenous people make traps.
Return for lunch.
In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to go out for canoeing in the creeks (Igarapés), depending on the season. In the dry season we will go along the river, where you have the opportunity to see more wildlife, like monkeys, birds and toucans. You return for dinner. Afterwards you go for another nocturnal night hike for about 30 to 40 minutes to listen the nature sounds and to spot nocturnal wildlife. Then return for overnight.

Day 3)

At 5:20 AM you will leave for small canoeing activity to spot wildlife like birds and monkeys. Return for breakfast. Then you leave upstream on Mutuca river to explore, spot wildlife and to see one of the largest tree on Amazon rainforest. On your way, you have a great opportunity see more wildlife, then return for lunch.

In the afternoon we will leave for overnight in the jungle using hammocks and mosquito nets. We set up our camp and you will learn how the natives survival in the wild using natural things, like leaves to make plates and using wood to make spoons. We’ll have dinner and afterward we go out for small nocturnal hike to spot nightlife. Back to the camp to sleep.

Day 4)

Breakfast in the jungle, then hike for about 4 to 5 hours through the jungle where you will learn more about the Amazon rainforest and about survival techniques, like how to get water from vines and eat what you get from the jungle.

We return to the camp and eat. Afterwards, we take everything and move to spend the night in a different place. You go to set up another camp and after a nocturnal canoeing activity, to spot night life, we head back to the camp for sleep.

Day 5)

Breakfast in the jungle and another hike to explore the area for 2 hours. Return to camp and pack up everything. You start to return to the lodge for lunch. At 2 PM you will head back towards your hotel, to arrive around 5 PM.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Light clothing, bathing suit, sun hat
  • Long sleeved shirt, long trousers and rain coat
  • Closed shoes for jungle trek and sandals
  • Insect repellent and sun screen
  • Shampoo, soap and others products personal hygienic.
  • Plastic bag to protect camera and valuables
  • Battery charger for camera and adapter for Brazilian power outlets
  • Binoculars and flashlight
  • Avoid black and red clothing as they attract mosquitoes
  • From 2 up to a maximum of 10 people per group
  • 2 guides per group
  • Maximum weight to take to the jungle 10kg per person
  • Currency – It is a good idea to bring some of the local currency as it is sometimes difficult to find a Brazilian ATM that will accept your debit/credit card
  • Water – Carry a bottle of water with you at all times. It is a very hot and humid climate.
  • Vaccinations – Talk to your doctor about vaccinations required for Brazil. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required to enter the country.
  • Malaria – Yes, this is an endemic area for malaria. Talk to your doctor about what you should be taking

  • Payment by Wise is just to hold your booking the rest in cash on arrival. Obser we do accept credit cards, but you need to pay the feet.

If you or any person that you are travelling with is forced to cancel your holiday you must notify us in writing as soon as possible. Once we have received your notification in writing your cancellation is effective, until this time it is not.

In order to cover any costs incurred by your cancellation as we may be unable to resell your holiday or the services that we have put in place costs and cancellation fees will be charged as follows: For cancellations made prior to 70 days of departure, 90% of all payments will be refunded. For cancellations made between 69 to 40 days of departure, 50% of the any payment will be refunded. Purchase Travelers Insurance if you are concerned about this possibility.

Once the tour has started, no refunds will be given for unused service, or incase you giveup the tour before the end we will not refunded!

When we give you your accomodations if there is any damages cause by you in the accomodations or with the mosquito nets or hammock or in the dinning room there will by charge a fee!
